The Complex Engineer serves as a strategic engineering leader across a multi-site manufacturing complex, overseeing six distinct locations including two hatcheries, a feed mill, a processing plant, a debone plant, and a prepared foods/distribution center. This role exists to bridge the gap between engineering innovation and operational execution, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and safety across the entire facility network.
As the primary project manager for assigned initiatives, you will collaborate closely with operations management and external resources to identify, scope, and deliver process improvements. The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership, as you will be responsible for managing project scope, schedules, and budgets while communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Your work environment is dynamic, shifting between a typical office setting within the manufacturing plant and the production floor. You will spend significant time analyzing data and designing solutions using advanced CAD tools, while also engaging directly with teams to implement changes. The role demands adaptability, as you may encounter varying environmental conditions, including noise, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to production lines. Success in this position involves leading project teams, presenting to large groups, and traveling between sites as needed, often requiring flexibility with weekends and overnight stays to support critical operational needs.
