Our client, a global leader in precision-engineered solutions and hardware, is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join their winning team in Rochester. This role is critical for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing, supply chain, and quality operations for high-reliability power electronics and control systems. The successful candidate will deliver mission-critical products to highly regulated industries, including semiconductor equipment, medical devices, and aerospace/defense, where precision, compliance, and reliability are paramount.
Acting as a "player-coach," you will blend high-level strategic oversight with hands-on operational management to drive efficiency, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The position involves a dynamic mix of office-based strategic planning and direct oversight on the manufacturing floor, requiring comfort with industrial environments, including exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery.
In a high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment, you will be the architect of operational excellence. You will translate custom engineering requirements into high-quality products while optimizing labor, equipment, and resource utilization to handle fluctuating demand. Your leadership will ensure the integrity of complex supply chains, manage strategic relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and champion initiatives like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance competitive positioning and profitability.
