Global Compensation is a critical function within the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, with a presence in Bangkok, Thailand, the team manages one of the most complex compensation environments in the world. We provide essential payroll, annuity, and benefits services to U.S. Foreign Service employees, Department of State Civil Service staff, and Locally Employed (LE) staff across 180 countries and 140 currencies.
Our mission is to deliver world-class compensation services to employees working domestically and overseas at U.S. Embassies and Missions. The Office of Global Compensation ensures that American Pay Processing (AMP) accurately handles time and attendance, payroll, withholding, and record-keeping for a diverse workforce including Civil Service, Senior Executive Service, Foreign Service officers, and retirees.
