The Community Resources & Workforce Development Department is launching the Homelessness Prevention Hub, a centralized initiative designed to replace the former Community Action Agency hotline. This new hub will serve as the primary intake point for Emergency Eviction Legal Services (EELS) and a wide array of homelessness prevention resources. The team operates with a mission to provide immediate, compassionate support to residents facing housing instability and crisis, ensuring they are connected to the right resources for emergency assistance, financial aid, and workforce development.
As a Community & Workforce Specialist I, you will be the first point of contact for community members in crisis. This grant-funded position is vital to the Hub's success, requiring you to conduct eligibility pre-screenings, navigate complex client situations, and facilitate referrals with empathy and professionalism. You will support residents seeking homelessness prevention resources, emergency assistance, and workforce-related support, acting as a bridge between individuals in need and the services that can help them.
The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. You will interact with clients via phone, email, online, or in person, often dealing with high-stress situations. Success in this role involves maintaining trauma-informed care approaches, de-escalating conflicts, and collaborating with a diverse team to adapt to evolving program needs as the Hub grows.
Applications for this position will be reviewed starting on May 29, 2026. Pima County Human Resources reserves the right to admit only those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications.
