The Communications Specialist serves as a vital support pillar for the development and implementation of The Port of Virginia Communications Strategy. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communications, this role ensures the POV brand remains aligned across all design, content, communications, and social media channels.
In this position, you will be the guardian of brand consistency and the creator of high-impact visual and written content. Your day-to-day involves crafting digital communications for internal and external audiences, managing social media strategies, and producing branded materials that tell the story of the Port. You will work collaboratively to ensure messaging is consistent, whether you are editing executive presentation decks, coordinating event logistics, or managing the organization's photo and video library.
Selected applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, which may include verification of academic records, employment history, criminal history, driving records, fingerprinting, and drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, candidates must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to access secure port areas.
