As the Communications Senior Program Manager for Utilities, you will serve as a strategic partner to department leadership, supporting the creation and implementation of an annual communications plan designed to keep customers and community members informed about services, projects, and policies. This role embeds you within the Utilities team, where you will act as a communication strategy lead, providing counsel on sensitive or political issues and ensuring proactive, transparent messaging around emerging challenges.
You will be the voice of the department, collaborating with the Communications & Engagement Department to share stories of success and critical updates regarding public safety topics like floods and droughts. From drafting news releases and social media content to serving as a spokesperson during critical response situations, you will leverage local, regional, and national media to highlight Boulder's work. This position requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution, ensuring that complex utility functions are communicated clearly to diverse audiences while fostering trust and understanding.
