The Watson Candidate Assistant serves as a dedicated resource for inquiries regarding opportunities within Dallas ISD. This position is designed to support the district's commitment to bilingual and ESL education by bridging the gap between administrative goals and classroom implementation.
In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and the Bilingual/ESL Department. Your primary mission is to foster academic achievement for English Learners (ELs) by developing and leading professional learning communities, coaching teachers, and ensuring program alignment with federal, state, and local guidelines. You will be the face of the Dual Language program, organizing events and managing digital communications to enhance community awareness and positive perceptions of the district's initiatives.
Your day will likely involve a dynamic mix of strategic planning, direct instruction, and community engagement. You might begin by analyzing data from Power School and the MyData Portal to identify professional development needs, then move on to co-leading a district-wide Professional Learning Community. Throughout the day, you will provide technical assistance to campus leadership, demonstrate instructional strategies to teachers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine the district's education plan. The role also requires active participation in district events, often extending into evenings and Saturdays, to support the visibility and success of the Bilingual/ESL Department.
