Begin a fulfilling career with the State of Indiana by joining one of the largest employers in the state, offering a range of opportunities across 60+ agencies. At the state, you'll find competitive compensation, a robust benefits package, and a commitment to work-life balance. Most importantly, you'll have the chance to make a real and measurable impact on the lives of Hoosiers across Indiana.
The IPSC facilitates statewide public safety communications. We provide interoperable and reliable public safety communications systems to all Hoosier first responders and public safety professionals for use during routine, emergency, and task force situations. Our goal is to strengthen community safety and security by minimizing the financial and technological barriers to interoperable communications through interagency cooperation.
This position serves as a critical customer and operational support analyst, acting as the primary liaison between the IPSC, our vendors, technicians, and the State and local agencies that utilize the Indiana P25-800 MHz trunking radio system. You will be the main point of contact for staff, vendors, and agencies, responsible for triaging calls and emails while managing the daily health of the network.
Your work will center on ensuring the availability and reliability of critical communications technology. You will coordinate timely repairs for technology systems and office equipment, ensuring agency employees are equipped with necessary wireless communications including cellular phones, pagers, and PDAs. A significant portion of your day involves monitoring RF and wide area networks using system management tools, responding to network alarms, and managing subscriber radio, talkgroup, and tower site databases.
Beyond daily monitoring, you will test, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment, serving as a consultant to agency employees on how to use and program communications and telephony systems. You will participate in developing technical standards, policies, and requirements based on customer needs, while making recommendations for purchases concerning data communications and telephony services. You will also facilitate quality improvement efforts and promote the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the agency.
