About the Team

RC Andersen, a proud member of the STO Building Group family, is dedicated to delivering mission-critical projects nationwide. Our collective includes over 4,000 employees across the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland, partnering with clients to imagine, execute, and realize complex visions. From site selection and design constructability to new building construction and infrastructure modernization, we pride ourselves on creative, award-winning, and high-profile work.

About the Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will provide quality control and leadership for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and automation systems across our projects. This role is vital for ensuring that intricate building systems are installed per design intent, specifications, and industry best practices. You will bridge the gap between design and construction, observing field work, comparing installations to drawings, and leading commissioning direction whether through internal processes or third-party firms.

The pace is fast, and the projects are complex. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop design concepts and performance requirements. Your day will involve comprehensive design reviews to identify conflicts, monitoring installation activities, and conducting site inspections to verify quality. You will lead functional testing, performance verification, and the development of turnover documentation, ensuring systems are ready for occupancy. This position offers the opportunity to mentor junior team members and apply emerging technologies to improve project outcomes.

Hiring Process

We are looking for candidates who can thrive in a dynamic environment. While specific interview steps are not detailed in this posting, we value technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their proficiency in reading MEP/FA/FP drawings, utilizing field-testing equipment, and navigating complex building systems.

Equal Opportunity Employer

The STO Building Group family of companies is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected characteristics. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees can succeed.
