About the Role
Build your future in construction management by joining our award-winning HITT Futures Program as a Commercial Construction Project Engineer. This role is designed for college graduates, Veterans, and individuals passionate about elevating the business of building. The opportunity provides an immersive, on-site experience with tailored training topics and a structured, one-year development plan that offers a fast track to promotion as an assistant-level project manager or superintendent.
Our paid HITT Futures Program focuses on mentorship, hands-on learning, professional development, and personal growth, designed to give you the confidence to shape your career and lead the next era of construction. As a Project Engineer, you will commit to being fully onsite for the duration of the 12-month training program to fully shadow, learn, and gain hands-on experience with the day-to-day operations of your assigned projects. You will work under the guidance of a dedicated Futures Program Sponsor—a tenured and experienced superintendent or above—while participating in performance reviews every four months to ensure knowledge retention and development goals are met.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleShadow day-to-day project operations and gain hands-on experience onsite
- check_circleMaintain jobsite office and manage project records including logs and correspondence
- check_circleUpdate as-built drawings and interpret basic coordination drawings
- check_circleDirect installation of building and site protection and identify safety requirements
- check_circleParticipate in site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship standards
- check_circleInterpret basic tests and reports such as air balance and concrete tests
- check_circleSet up and run subcontractor foremen meetings when directed
- check_circleAssist project managers with logistical tasks including budgeting and client management
- check_circleConduct weekly safety meetings and complete required safety reports
Requirements

Nice to Have
Military experience or a four-year degree from an accredited university within the Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business concentrations. Previous experience on commercial job sites.
