About the Team

At JPMorgan Chase, we are creating positive change for the diverse communities we serve. As one of the oldest financial institutions with a history spanning over 200 years, we are a leader in investment banking, commercial banking, and asset management. Our Commercial & Investment Bank relies on professionals who understand that managing risk is central to our business and critical to our success. We champion innovative ideas through a supportive culture that helps you every step of the way as you build your career.

About the Role

As an intern in our Risk Management program, you will join a team of industry experts to manage risk for our global businesses. You will collaborate with professionals across the firm to help shape decisions, influence models, and interface with regulators. Your perspective is valued as you work to innovate products for our clients and protect our financial reputation.

This nine-week summer program is designed to develop your expertise through training, mentorship, and engaging projects. You will receive instruction from expert instructors and JPMorganChase professionals on our history, products, and the intellectual property that serves our clients. The program begins with an orientation and training session in New York, where you will learn skills in valuation analysis, accounting, corporate finance, economics, capital markets, and risk analysis.

You will build your technical and practical knowledge on-the-job within one of our specialized groups:

  • Credit Risk Team: Assess client credit strength and analyze the firm's retained credit risk related to lending and trading activities.
  • Market Risk Team: Track market events, perform portfolio analysis, and provide risk advisory for multiple asset classes, including FX, Rates, Equities, and Commodities.
  • Chief Investment Office, Treasury and Corporate (CTC) Risk Team: Manage the risk of the retained portfolio generated from CTC businesses, including independent risk management of Firmwide Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk, and Capital Risk.
  • Country Risk Team: Evaluate countries across macroeconomic, political, and fiscal factors to measure and manage risks that could adversely impact the firm's exposures.

Throughout the program, you will have the chance to learn about risk at a premier global investment bank, understand the role of integrity and transparency in dealing with regulators, and collaborate across the organization to solve problems proactively.

Hiring Process

We are filling our classes on a rolling basis, so we strongly encourage you to submit your application as early as possible before job postings close.

  1. Application: Submit a complete and thoughtful application, including your resume. It is important to complete all relevant application questions so we have as much information about you as possible.
  2. Review: We will review your application to determine whether you meet certain required qualifications.
  3. Video Interview: If advanced to the next step, you will receive an email invitation to complete a video interview powered by HireVue. This is your opportunity to further bring your resume to life and showcase your experience for our recruiting team and hiring managers. Completion of this interview is required for your application to be considered for further review.
