As a CNC Machine Operator on the Mid Shift, you will be a vital part of our Graniteville, SC manufacturing team. You will work on innovative, world-class engineering solutions, specifically focusing on the precision machining of cubic engine components. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic production environment and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Your day will involve operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D Controllers. You will interpret complex blueprints, control plans, and job orders to determine dimensional specifications and sequences of operations. A key part of your responsibility is ensuring precision; you will select appropriate tools, set up machines, and perform fine-tuning through sample cuts to optimize programs and prevent equipment collisions. You will also monitor machine operations to detect issues like excessive vibration or dull cutting tools, making necessary adjustments to maintain workflow and product integrity.
Beyond machine operation, you will be expected to maintain industrial machines within Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) specifications, identify non-value-added work, and promote a culture of compliance with the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct. This role requires flexibility, as you may be asked to support other production-related areas or perform special projects as needed.

Shift Information: This position is for the Mid Shift (1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday). Please note that training will take place for 2 weeks on the Day Shift (Monday through Thursday, 5:45 AM to 4:15 PM).
Daily work is performed in a durable goods manufacturing environment. The role involves frequent walking and standing, as well as the ability to sit, use hands to handle tools and parts, and reach with arms. Employees may occasionally be required to balance, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The physical demands include regularly lifting or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (specifically SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Basic ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications. Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.). Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex. Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees. Basic ability to interpret blueprints, build documents, schematic drawings, layouts or other documents regarding engine assembly and testing. Basic organizational, planning and follow-up skills and the ability to cope with stress. Basic oral and written communication skills. Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals, tools and devices. Experience as a CNC milling operator. Knowledge of SIEMENS 840 D Control System. Ability to obtain appropriate hoists and power vehicle licenses (Flatbed, Hi-Lo, & Mule) when necessary.
