SMX is seeking Cloud Functional Specialists/Experts (Junior, Mid, or Senior) to support the design and implementation of secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure, applications, and services. This role is critical in supporting enterprise cloud migration and mission-critical systems for the United States Air Force.
While this labor category focuses on non-technical Information Technology functional expertise, it is essential for supporting cloud-related tasks. You will provide task-unique functional expertise and in-depth knowledge necessary to interpret requirements, ensure responsiveness, and achieve successful performance in business, operational, engineering, mathematics, or scientific areas. You will participate in all phases of the cloud project lifecycle, advising IT consultants with the extensive knowledge needed from your specialty for effective implementation.
In this position, you will demonstrate functional expertise across cloud computing technologies, configurations, and environments (hybrid, native, multi-cloud, on-prem, etc.). You will support various customers and technical cloud implementation teams, executing enterprise cloud initiatives across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Kubernetes-based platforms within DoD environments. Your day-to-day will involve conducting research, product building, presentations, and delivery to provide expertise and recommendations. You will identify "best in breed" solutions, contribute to technical discussions internally and with customer or vendor teams, and focus on cloud-native services to optimize the customer landscape. Additionally, you will lead or support cloud migration strategies and facilitate discussions in customer, partner, and leadership engagements.
Applications for this position are due by July 27, 2026. Selected applicants may be subject to a background investigation and/or education verification.
