About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired patient outcomes within the Medical Surgical specialty population. This role functions as a leader within the three spheres of influence: Patient/Client, Nurses and Nursing Practice, and Organization/System. As an active participant in the nursing leadership team, the CNS drives initiatives that enhance care delivery and professional standards.

This position is eligible for TN sponsorship and offers a flexible schedule to meet patient needs and workload demands. The role typically operates Monday through Friday, with hours generally from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, though flexibility for earlier starts or later finishes is available depending on business needs. There are no weekend or on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • verifiedMaster's degree in nursing with Clinical Nurse Specialist focus

  • verifiedCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers
  • verifiedFive years of successful work experience in nursing
  • verifiedTwo years of experience in the specialty area
  • verifiedFree from problematic substance use for minimum of two years prior to hire

Nice to Have

Experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. Five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years in the specialty area. Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification.
