About the Role
This position is located in the Core Lab at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. The role operates on a full-time night shift schedule (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with required weekend rotations. We are considering candidates for Clinical Laboratory Scientist I, II, or III levels.
As a Clinical Lab Scientist 3, you will demonstrate an advanced level of laboratory experience within the Pathology department. You will perform a variety of routine and complex clinical laboratory tests, analyzing results with a professional level of knowledge, particularly when results are abnormal or atypical. Beyond testing, you will support pre-analytical and analytical needs, set up and maintain equipment, and monitor quality control standards.
In this capacity, you will also serve as a mentor, providing training to new hires, current colleagues, students, and residents. You may be tasked with bringing new testing programs online, handling validation, supporting research, and serving as a charge in the absence of leadership. Additionally, you will review lab requisitions, collect clinical data, and support inventory management.

To qualify for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist III (Medical Technologist)-Core Lab at Johns Hopkins Medicine position, applicants should have: BS degree in Medical Lab Sciences, Medical Technology, or Clinical Lab Science related field; BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or categorical related field with clinical laboratory internship/clinical rotations and approved Med Tech certification; Minimum 2 years of direct clinical laboratory experience; Verified certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLS) from ASCP or other department approved agency; and Authorization to Work in the United States without sponsorship.
