Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator serves as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff. This role collaborates with facility and market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing and non-nursing personnel.
The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for assigned units while following and contributing to Tenet's educational goals and vision. Programs typically include orientation, continuing education, and in-services, executed based on adult learning principles and organizational learning theory. Beyond direct education, the role involves providing consultation on process, performance, and service delivery, as well as contributing to the organization through councils, committees, and workgroups. The educator also provides leadership to preceptors, serves as a role model, and actively mentors nurse residents to support their growth in the profession and clinical practice.
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and a pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug screen.
