This position serves as the operational backbone of a clinical department, managing day-to-day administrative functions with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The role exists to relieve the Chair of various administrative duties, ensuring the department runs efficiently while fostering a culture of service, respect, accountability, integrity, advancement, and teamwork.
You will act as a bridge between the department and the broader TTUHSC-EP ecosystem, coordinating with administrative officials, granting agencies, other institutions, and government organizations. A key part of your mission involves identifying and developing new product lines and services for the orthopaedic patient population, working closely with the marketing department to promote these offerings to the general public.
Your work will focus on instituting systems and procedures to prevent duplication of function and improve operational efficiency. You will oversee human resources tasks, including recruitment, retention, salary administration, and staff development, while conducting performance evaluations for all support staff. Financial stewardship is central to the role, requiring you to develop and monitor complex budgets, grants, and contracts to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Additionally, you will manage departmental billing and collection activities, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission and Texas Medical Board, and oversee the communication of TTUHSC-EP policies. The role involves considerable contact with internal and external stakeholders, requiring you to stay current with licensure, certifications, and industry trends through participation in national and regional association conferences.

Prior experience as a Department Manager or senior level supervisor in a state operated healthcare system, preferably within the state of Texas.
