You will join the ABQ ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team within the Behavioral and Mental Health department. This high-intensity clinical environment is dedicated to providing comprehensive psychosocial evaluation, diagnostic, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services. The team serves a diverse patient population spanning neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups, requiring a high degree of independent decision-making and program administration.
This position is designed for a clinician who can lead and train lower-level counselors, social workers, students, and interns while delivering direct patient care. You will provide counseling, therapy, and psychotherapy to clients and families, preparing treatment and discharge plans that ensure continuity of care. Your day-to-day involves consulting with other therapists and paraprofessional staff, arranging therapeutic interventions for individuals with serious emotional or behavioral disturbances, and referring clients to appropriate social service agencies for financial assistance and other needs.
A significant portion of the role involves outreach; you may visit patients and families in their homes to provide counseling, support, and coaching in Activities of Daily Living, such as personal hygiene, food preparation, and money management. You will also manage administrative functions, including monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, and participating in research projects to develop service plans. As a senior team member, you will provide clinical supervision to graduate social work students and interns, ensuring adherence to hospital and departmental policies while promoting best practices in treatment.
Patient safety is a core pillar of this role. You are expected to demonstrate a proactive approach by questioning current policies to improve safety, identifying environmental risks, and reporting potential medical errors or near misses. You will also encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by fostering an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions about their treatment.
This full-time position offers a competitive compensation package including a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. The role includes a Safety Incentive Pay of an additional $6.00 per hour. Shift differentials are available, offering 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, and organizational considerations.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in a related discipline and possess at least three years of directly related experience, including documented experience in an age-appropriate environment. The team is currently seeking individuals committed to professional growth through educational programs, literature review, and workshops.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
