The ABQ ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team operates within the Behavioral and Mental Health department, delivering high-intensity clinical services to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric adults. The team is dedicated to providing comprehensive psychosocial evaluations, crisis intervention, and case management in a setting that demands independent decision-making and robust program administration.
This position serves as a clinical leader responsible for overseeing a wide range of therapeutic activities, including counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention for individuals with serious emotional or behavioral disturbances. You will lead and train lower-level counselors, social workers, students, and interns, ensuring they adhere to hospital and departmental policies while delivering high-quality care.
The role involves preparing treatment and discharge plans, consulting with legal and treatment agencies regarding patient rights, and managing documentation for civil commitment hearings. A key component of the position is providing side-by-side support and coaching to clients in their home environments, assisting with Activities of Daily Living such as personal hygiene, food preparation, and money management. You will also participate in research projects, propose policy changes, and ensure proactive patient safety by identifying and correcting environmental risks.
Candidates for this role should be prepared to discuss their experience in age-appropriate environments and their approach to clinical supervision. The position requires a Master's Degree in a related discipline and at least three years of directly related experience. The team operates on a full-time basis with a day shift, and on-call services are provided in rotation with other ACT team staff.
