The ABQ ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team operates within the Behavioral and Mental Health department, delivering high-intensity clinical services to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric adults. The team is dedicated to providing comprehensive psychosocial evaluations, crisis intervention, and case management in a setting that demands independent decision-making and robust program administration.
This position serves as a clinical leader responsible for overseeing a wide range of therapeutic activities, including counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention for individuals with serious emotional or behavioral disturbances. You will play a pivotal role in preparing treatment and discharge plans while ensuring strict adherence to hospital and departmental policies.
A core component of this role involves mentoring and training lower-level counselors, social workers, students, and interns. You will provide clinical supervision, offer in-service training on proper handling of patient matters, and guide the professional growth of the team. The role also requires active engagement in the field, providing side-by-side support and coaching to clients in their home environments regarding activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, food preparation, and money management.
You will collaborate closely with legal and treatment agencies to manage patient records, rights, and responsibilities, and may be required to prepare documentation for civil commitment hearings. The position emphasizes a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging the identification of environmental risks and the reporting of medical errors or near misses. Additionally, you will participate in research projects to develop service plans and propose changes to program policies to enhance best practices in treatment.
Candidates for this role should be prepared to discuss their documented experience in age-appropriate environments and their ability to function independently in a high-intensity clinical setting. The team values professionals who demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning through participation in educational programs, workshops, and current literature.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. Compensation for this role is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, and other business and organizational considerations. The position includes a safety incentive pay of $6.00/hr, along with shift differentials for weekday nights (17%), weekend nights (26%), and weekend days (15%). Sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates.
