The ABQ ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team operates within the Behavioral and Mental Health department, dedicated to delivering high-intensity clinical services in a dynamic environment. Our mission is to provide comprehensive psychosocial evaluation, diagnostic assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatric adults. The team functions as a cohesive unit, emphasizing independent decision-making and program administration to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
This position serves as a pivotal clinical leader responsible for overseeing a wide range of therapeutic and case management services. You will provide direct counseling, therapy, and psychotherapy to clients and families, while also preparing treatment and discharge plans. The role requires a proactive approach to patient safety, encouraging active participation from patients in their own care and identifying environmental risks.
Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with other therapists and legal agencies, arranging emergency interventions for individuals with serious emotional or behavioral disturbances, and managing civil commitment documentation. A key component of this role is mentorship; you will lead, train, and provide clinical supervision to lower-level counselors, social workers, students, and interns. Additionally, you will engage in administrative functions, monitor expenditures, and participate in research projects to develop service plans.
The team operates on a day shift with an on-call rotation, ensuring continuous support for the community. You will also provide side-by-side support and coaching in home environments, assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living such as personal hygiene, food preparation, and money management.
Candidates selected for this role will be considered based on their qualifications and fit within the team. The organization offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance to support qualified applicants. Compensation includes a safety incentive pay of $6.00/hr, along with shift differentials of 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days.
