As a Charge Nurse at Fresenius Medical Care North America (FMCNA), you will serve as a vital leader in our mission to support patient care, uphold core values, and maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence. This role is designed to ensure the continuity of safe, effective, and cost-efficient dialysis operations while fostering a culture of compliance with all regulatory and facility policies.
In this position, you will manage daily decision-making to prioritize both patient and staff safety. You will act as the primary subject matter expert and resource for your team, guiding direct patient care staff through their daily routines, from patient assessments and medication administration to emergency response. Your day involves collaborating with the Facility Administrator and rounding physicians to refine care plans, ensuring that every patient receives personalized attention regarding their End Stage Renal Disease, dialysis therapy, and overall well-being.
Beyond clinical duties, you will play a key role in team development by providing ongoing feedback, participating in hiring and training initiatives, and leading monthly staff meetings to keep the team informed on operational changes and patient care needs. You will also oversee the safe operation of dialysis equipment and ensure strict adherence to OSHA programs and water quality standards.
