About the Role
We are seeking dedicated, detail-oriented, and hardworking individuals to join the OD Family as a Combination Driver/Dockworker. This unique dual-role is essential to our mission of delivering customer freight safely, accurately, and on time. You will serve as the backbone of our warehouse and material handling operations, ensuring the seamless flow of goods from service centers to customer locations.
In this dynamic environment, you will alternate between the precision of the dock and the responsibility of the road. As a Dockworker, you will efficiently load and unload freight using forklifts or manually, ensuring high-quality trailer loading and secure freight placement. As a Driver, you will operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport freight between service centers and client sites, adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting and take immense pride in providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate tractor-trailer combinations to deliver freight between service centers and customer locations
- check_circleRead and interpret shipping labels and complete freight movement forms such as manifests and bills
- check_circleUtilize Dock Yard Management System to monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center
- check_circleLoad and unload freight using motorized forklifts, pallet jacks, or manually in compliance with DOT guidelines
- check_circleSecure freight inside trailers using straps, rope, and pallets to ensure safe transport
- check_circleSort, rewrap, and stack freight to maintain quality loading standards and efficient warehouse operations
- check_circleInspect vehicles and equipment for safety compliance and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred
- verifiedValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazardous material endorsements
- verified12 months previous tractor-trailer driving experience or graduate of approved driving school or completed ODTDT-8/88 program
- verifiedAbility to read, write, speak English and perform simple mathematical calculations
- verifiedAbility to operate hand held mini-computer
- verifiedGood oral communications skills
