Located in our Virginia Beach, VA office, the team focuses on roadway design, traffic analysis, and planning projects that serve VDOT and local governments across Virginia.
About the Role
As a Civil Project Manager, you will lead the successful execution of assigned projects while cultivating strong, lasting client relationships. This role is pivotal in bridging technical excellence with business growth, requiring you to manage marketing efforts, business development, and the technical quality of deliverables.
You will oversee the full project lifecycle, including schedule management, budget control, and staff coordination. A key aspect of this position involves negotiating scopes and fees, managing billing, and assisting in fee collection. You will be expected to maintain superior relationships with clients and actively cross-sell Timmons Group services, even those outside your direct area of expertise. Success in this role requires the ability to juggle multiple mid-sized projects, several small projects, or a single large-scale initiative simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met with a professional attitude.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or related scientific area
- verifiedProfessional registration (P.E., PTOE, etc.) preferred
- verified8 to 10 years of experience in roadway design, traffic and transportation engineering
- verifiedExperience with VDOT and/or local governments in Virginia
- verifiedWorking knowledge of MicroStation and traffic analysis software (Synchro, SimTraffic, Trans Modeler, VISSIM)
Nice to Have
Professional registration (P.E., PTOE, etc.) in one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business.
