About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Support Staff/Child Care Worker to provide an enriching and safe environment for students in grades K-5 enrolled in our before and after school child care programs. This position is vital to ensuring a supportive atmosphere where students can thrive outside of regular classroom hours.
In this role, you will assist with a variety of child care activities, including preparing and serving snacks and attending to the personal needs of the children. Your presence helps bridge the gap between school and home, offering a consistent and caring space for our youngest learners.
Terms of Employment
This is a 9-month position aligned with the 2026-2027 school year. The role requires a commitment of 5.75 hours per day, with shifts typically running from 6:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. or 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Specific location details will be confirmed upon hiring.
While the position offers modified benefits including paid holidays, two personal days per year, seven sick days per year, and paid jury duty, the nature of the role demands regular attendance and punctuality. Early and late hours are essential, and staffing levels are often limited, making reliability a key component of success in this team.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a sincere interest in working with elementary school-aged children. While prior experience in this age group is preferred, a genuine passion for student development is paramount. Successful applicants will possess strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and staff.
