This position serves as the instructional leader and operational manager for the campus, directing the instructional program and supervising all personnel. The role is dedicated to ensuring high standards of instructional service, overseeing compliance with district policies, and driving the success of all campus activities. For International Baccalaureate (IB) campuses, the incumbent also serves as the Head of School.
The primary mission is to foster a collaborative environment where staff and students thrive. You will build a common vision for school improvement, lead the preparation of the campus budget, and ensure the effective resolution of conflicts. By maintaining open communication with the Superintendent, central office, parents, and the community, you will articulate the school's mission and solicit support to realize it.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of instructional leadership, personnel management, and community engagement. You will observe employee performance, conduct evaluation conferences, and provide orientation and mentoring for new teachers. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to data-driven decision-making, analyzing research findings to promote school improvement and setting annual performance objectives.
You will work closely with campus-level committees to plan professional development and coordinate campus functions. The role requires managing facilities to ensure a safe and orderly environment, developing student discipline systems that enhance school climate, and conducting conferences with parents and teachers regarding student issues. You will also serve as a role model for professional, ethical, and responsible behavior, demonstrating loyalty to district initiatives while navigating frequent interruptions and multiple projects.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree and a Texas Principal's Certificate (or Administrator/Mid-Management Administrator Certificate). Additionally, certification as a Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser is required. Applicants should have at least three years of experience as a classroom teacher and three years in an instructional leadership role.
