The Memphis VA Medical Center is a 1a complexity tertiary care system located in one of the fastest-growing Veteran population regions in the United States. This role offers a dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The Chief of Radiology reports directly to the Chief of Staff, serving as a key extension of leadership and acting as a backup in the Chief's absence. The position is pivotal in shaping top-level decision-making and policy design that impacts patient care through collaboration with medical center administration, other Service Chiefs, and interdepartmental supervisors.
You will lead the administration, management, and strategic direction of the entire Diagnostic Imaging Department. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass the breadth of clinical care, including inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic management, while supervising providers, medical staff, and trainees across Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology. Beyond clinical oversight, you will foster professional development through coaching, mentoring, and teaching, ensuring the service evolves to meet both patient care needs and broader medical center goals.
