About the Role
The Chief Engineer serves as the cornerstone of the property's operational integrity, overseeing the comprehensive maintenance of both interior and exterior environments. This role is fundamental to the longevity of all building equipment and the aesthetic quality of the community. As the key employee for building operations, you will ensure technical competence and strict compliance with all current codes and criteria.
You will lead the maintenance team in executing day-to-day routine maintenance while developing and adhering to a robust preventative maintenance program. Your leadership extends to supervising outside vendors, ensuring satisfactory completion of repairs, and maintaining a professional image that reflects positively on the company. The position requires a unique blend of technical expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical engineering, paired with strong interpersonal skills to facilitate solutions for all types of maintenance problems within the community.
Work Environment & Culture
This is a full-time, exempt position that demands adaptability to changing circumstances. While the office environment is standard, the role involves occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, and wet or humid environments. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud.
You will be expected to react to and address emergency situations within two hours, including availability for occasional night and weekend work. The role also requires attending occasional off-site meetings within local city limits.
