4C serves the medical cardiac population by managing chronic and acute onset diseases while balancing the need for telemetry and cardiac management. The team cares for patients with multisystem needs, including heart failure, respiratory distress, unmanageable dysrhythmias, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes, and gastrointestinal conditions. We also coordinate management for patients requiring cath lab, angio, dialysis, outpatient infusion/chemo, and anti-coagulation therapies.
The Charge Nurse is the leader who provides support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. This role manages the operations of the department, ensuring all patients receive timely, safe, effective, and high-quality care. You will coordinate the delivery of patient care by determining staffing needs and making patient assignments that match the right person to the right task. Additionally, you will coordinate the patient's plan of care with the bedside nurse, set expectations regarding professional conduct, and serve as a resource for the patient care unit. You will hold direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines, performing all duties consistent with the Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.
