Presbyterian exists to improve the health of patients, members, and the communities we serve. Founded in New Mexico in 1908, we are the state's largest private employer and a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system. Our network includes nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a growing multi-specialty medical group. With nearly 14,000 employees, including over 1,600 providers and 4,700 nurses, we are dedicated to supporting New Mexico's well-being.
As a Pediatric Charge MET RN, you will build your career while making a difference on our pediatric unit. This role is designed for a nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment, blending direct patient care with supervisory responsibilities. You will serve as the on-shift clinical leader, acting as a resource, mentor, and point of escalation for both clinical and operational issues.
In this position, you will coordinate patient care and ensure safe, efficient operations. Your day will involve overseeing patient flow, managing staffing needs, and providing expert clinical guidance to nurses, techs, and support staff. You will monitor patient acuity to maintain safe workloads and support rapid response activations and emergency interventions. Beyond clinical duties, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, educate families on diagnoses and treatments, and facilitate communication between departments such as pharmacy, lab, and respiratory therapy. You will also play a key role in mentoring new staff, promoting a positive team culture, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
At Presbyterian, how you grow, learn, and thrive matters. We offer a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support your professional and personal well-being. This includes educational and career development options such as tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department. We prioritize staff safety with innovative tools like wearable badges that allow nurses to discreetly call for help when needed. Additionally, we offer competitive differentials for night and weekend shifts, higher education, and certifications, along with malpractice liability insurance and access to our EPIC electronic charting system.
Our commitment to well-being extends to a unique wellness program featuring free on-site and community-based gyms, nutrition coaching, mindfulness resources, and wellness challenges. Presbyterian is a drug-free and tobacco-free employer with smoke-free campuses, fostering a healthy environment for all.
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is an AA/EOE/VET/DISABLED employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
