About the Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to optimize patient care transitions and resource utilization within a premier academic medical center in Syracuse, NY. As an RN Case Manager / Utilization Review specialist, you will lead utilization review, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary coordination for high-acuity patients. The role is designed to ensure seamless care delivery while maintaining strict compliance with EPIC documentation standards and payer guidelines.
You will work alongside ED teams to facilitate rapid case management and analyze resource utilization trends to recommend improvements. This role provides valuable exposure to an academic medical center environment, fostering professional growth for experienced nurses seeking to expand their impact in pediatric acute care.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, day shift position (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) located at an Acute Care/Academic Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. The role requires a candidate with specific pediatric experience and a background in hospital case management within a complex acute care setting.

Requirements
- verifiedADN/BSN from an accredited program
- verifiedCurrent and active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- verifiedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification
- verifiedPediatric experience
- verifiedMinimum of 1.5 years of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting
- verifiedProven experience in hospital case management within an acute care environment
- verifiedProficiency in the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system preferred
