As a general duty officer, you will patrol assigned areas using various modes of transport—including vehicles, foot, bicycle, ATV, or vessel—to proactively prevent crime and respond to emergencies.

You will be responsible for investigating criminal offenses, traffic accidents, and suspicious activities, as well as making arrests and testifying in court. Beyond enforcement, you will serve as a resource for the community by providing crime prevention information and directing traffic. This position is considered "essential," requiring you to work in all weather conditions and navigate a dynamic environment that may involve exposure to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and moving mechanical parts.
