As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you play a vital role in supporting the pharmacist and ensuring the pharmacy department runs smoothly. You will be the face of the pharmacy for many customers, delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting patients, offering assistance, and resolving issues with care and professionalism.
Your day involves a blend of clinical support and operational excellence. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will utilize pharmacy systems to process prescriptions, verify medication details, and manage inventory. You will also handle cash registers, process manual claims, and assist with clinical services such as collecting patient samples. If you hold PTCB certification, you will have the opportunity to coach other technicians and cashiers, helping to elevate the entire team's performance.
Beyond the counter, you will contribute to the health of the local community by assisting in outreach efforts to physicians, nursing homes, and health groups. You will also help maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment, ensuring that all operations comply with state, federal, and company policies, including the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing guidelines.
We are committed to your professional development. You will earn and maintain PTCB certification through our designated training program or state-required registration. As you grow, you will attend manager-requested training, complete necessary PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with the latest healthcare and pharmacy developments. This role serves as a foundation for advancement, with PTCB certification being a condition for promotion to Senior Technician.

Six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing). Good computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory control. PTCB certification.
