About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you play a vital role in supporting the pharmacist and ensuring the pharmacy department runs smoothly. You will be the face of the pharmacy for many customers, tasked with delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and safety in prescription processing.
Your day involves a blend of clinical support and operational excellence. You will assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, utilizing pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. From filling prescriptions and verifying medicine to handling cash registers and managing inventory, your contributions ensure that patients receive their medications efficiently and correctly. If you hold PTCB certification, you will also have the opportunity to coach other technicians and cashiers, sharing your expertise to elevate the team's performance.
Beyond the counter, you will engage with customers by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. You will model customer service best practices, fostering strong relationships with our most valuable customers and maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming pharmacy environment.
Training & Development
We are committed to your professional growth. You will earn and maintain PTCB certification through our designated training program or state-required certification. As a condition of promotion to Senior Technician, obtaining PTCB certification is required. You will also attend training sessions, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with the latest healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Requirements

Six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, weighing). Good computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory control. PTCB certification.
