About the Role
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This position is designed for professionals who thrive in varied environments, adapting care across acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings. Your day-to-day involves implementing treatment plans to improve patient functional independence and safety, assisting with activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) training, and utilizing therapeutic activities and mobility exercises.
Beyond direct patient care, you will be a key collaborator within interdisciplinary teams, supporting comprehensive care strategies. A significant part of your role includes educating patients and their families on home programs, equipment usage, and safety protocols. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation in EMR systems, tracking patient progress, and ensuring strict compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
