Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform occupational therapy procedures and related tasks delegated by the supervising OT
- check_circleModify specific treatment procedures in accordance with the plan of care and practice standards
- check_circleDocument and maintain service-related records on a timely basis
- check_circleInitiate and maintain written and verbal communication to ensure coordinated patient care
- check_circleEnsure an OT is present during initial visits and revisits at minimum every sixth visit or thirty days
- check_circleAssist the Rehabilitation Supervisor in scheduling patient supervisory visits
- check_circleReport observations of patient performance and responses to supervising therapists every two weeks
- check_circleImplement occupational therapy services as prescribed in the patient's plan of care
- check_circleParticipate in in-service programs, QA reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings
- check_circleParticipate in educating patients and their families regarding treatment
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate's Degree in occupational therapy assistant from NYS-approved program
- verifiedCertification and current registration as occupational therapy assistant from New York State
- verifiedValid driver's license (may be required)
- verifiedMinimum of two years of experience as occupational therapy assistant (preferred)
- verifiedBasic PC skills (preferred)
- verifiedBilingual skills (may be required)
