About the Role
We are seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team at the Arizona State Veterans' Home in Tucson. In this night shift role, you will be the backbone of direct care, providing essential support that improves the quality of life for our veterans. You will work as part of a supportive team environment where you can use and develop your potential while participating in facility meetings and continuous improvement initiatives like the Arizona Management System (AMS).
Your day will involve more than just clinical tasks; you will be a vital link in the care continuum, responding to patient requests, assisting with dining experiences, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment. You will work 12-hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with every other weekend off, contributing to a schedule that balances rigorous care with personal time.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist veterans with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
- check_circleFollow instructions to use procedures and devices to strengthen limbs and maintain flexibility
- check_circleAssist nursing staff with simple medical procedures including suppositories, enemas, and post-surgical care
- check_circleReport to and assist licensed nurses in emergency situations following established policies
- check_circleTransport veterans to outside appointments and perform clerical duties such as answering phones and filing
- check_circleRespond timely to patient requests and call lights in accordance with the Resident Bill of Rights
- check_circleMaintain cleanliness of areas by changing bedding, linens, and other items
- check_circleAssist veterans with dining by transporting them, communicating menu choices, and serving meals
- check_circleMonitor physical and mental status by taking vital signs and obtaining urine, sputum, or stool samples
- check_circleMaintain medical records and worksheets while preparing simple reports for assigned veterans
Requirements
- verifiedCurrent or temporary Certified Nurse Assistant license in Arizona
- verifiedCurrent Negative TB skin test or physician statement
- verifiedFingerprint clearance card from Arizona DPS
- verifiedCurrent CPR card
- verifiedOne or more years skilled nursing facility or long-term care experience preferred
