At Orchard Cove, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is the heartbeat of person-centered care. This role exists to ensure every resident maintains their dignity, comfort, and autonomy by actively offering choices in their daily lives. Working under the guidance of licensed nurses, you will be the primary point of contact for residents, translating their needs into compassionate action across physical, mental, and social well-being.
Your day is defined by meaningful interaction and attentive observation. You will assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always prioritizing their preferences. Whether it is helping a resident with a meal by cutting food or opening containers, transporting them to appointments, or simply ensuring their room remains a home-like, comfortable sanctuary, your presence sets the tone for their day.
Beyond direct care, you serve as the eyes and ears of the care team. You will monitor residents for changes in condition, pressure ulcers, or safety hazards, reporting these observations immediately to the charge nurse. You will also manage equipment safely, maintain strict infection control protocols, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record. A key part of your interaction involves using a "coaching approach" in all communications, fostering a supportive environment for residents, families, and colleagues alike.
Orchard Cove is dedicated to creating a no-manual lift environment and upholding the highest standards of safety and privacy. We value a team that is optimistic, flexible, and possesses sound judgment. We believe in the power of a positive demeanor and a sense of humor to navigate the challenges of caring for the elderly and disabled. As a member of our team, you represent our organization with professionalism, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to quality of life.
Candidates must successfully pass a CORI check as requested by Orchard Cove. The role requires a Certified Nursing Assistant license and a commitment to attending mandatory in-services to maintain licensure. We look for individuals who are motivated to learn and can adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic care environment.
