About the Team
The MUSC Rutledge Tower Outpatient Neurology Clinic provides comprehensive care for a variety of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, memory disorders, movement disorders, neuromuscular conditions, and stroke. Our clinical staff works closely together to ensure patient healthcare needs are met while encouraging every team member to work to their highest potential in every aspect of patient care.
About the Role
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will report to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care. Your day will involve assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician, interviewing patients, and measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. You will also record or input this information into patient medical records and prepare treatment rooms for examinations. Additionally, you will assist with various procedures, including skin biopsies and Botox injections, and help coordinate patient care and treatment plans through telephone calls and messages.
