About the Role
As a US Foods Delivery Driver, you will be a critical member of our team and one of the most important faces of our organization. You will play a vital role in delivering meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to customer drop-off sites. Your efforts form the foundation of our success, defined by our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.
This role is ideal for Class A Drivers who are flexible and open to making multi-yard trips to start routes. You will relish the chance to push your potential and grow within the US Foods family. Please note that this position requires commuting and traveling to various assigned yards located in Oregon to begin routes, with travel times varying based on assignment.
A Day in the Life
Your day will involve delivering best-in-class customer service and ensuring orders are delivered to meet scheduled times while maintaining productivity. You will unload products using a hand truck and place items in customer storage areas, often performing repeated manual heavy lifting of items up to 80 pounds. The role requires making frequent stops and delivering products in inclement weather conditions. Additionally, you will verify deliveries with customers and collect payments (cash or checks) where needed.
The schedule features early morning start times, ranging between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM, with availability required Monday through Saturday. The average work week consists of 4 or 5 days, and route assignments may alternate on a weekly basis, covering multiple yards in Oregon. Some local routes may require overnight work.
