About the Role
As a Part-Time Container Delivery Driver, you will be the face of PODS at customer locations, responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and pickup of moving containers. This role is essential to ensuring customers have a seamless experience, combining operational precision with excellent customer rapport. You will operate a commercial truck equipped with a patented lift mechanism, handling everything from loading and unloading to coordinating rental paperwork and resolving on-site questions.
Day in the Life
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your commercial vehicle and lift, ensuring everything is ready for a safe journey. You will navigate to customer sites using company handheld computers for verification and logistics, operating the truck and specialized equipment like forklifts or overhead cranes to move containers. Beyond the driving, you will maintain the cleanliness and condition of both the truck cab and the containers, performing minor field repairs as needed. You will also coordinate directly with customers regarding their rentals and communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager to address any issues, ensuring every interaction is professional and incident-free.
