About the Role
The Driver, Trainee Component position is designed to help you take your CDL-A career further. In this role, you will learn the essential functions of a Driver, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to various customer locations. As part of the developmental process, you will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions while riding and training with a Driver Trainer.
You will observe and practice commercial driving regulations, engine starting, intersection approaches, turns, backing, parking, and maneuvering on both the road and customer premises. Your day will involve operating the truck safely in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, inspecting equipment for defects, and utilizing the Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) to document receipts and product temperatures. You will also assist in unloading trailers and delivering products, providing customer service that includes on-time delivery, product returns, and issuing valid credits.
