US Foods helps our customers "Make It" with products and services that shape the communities where we live and work. Great drivers are crucial to our team and serve as one of the important faces of our organization. On and off the road, our drivers strive for integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with customers.
At the foundation of these efforts are our cultural beliefs, which define our work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service. We are committed to helping our drivers make it, just as we help our customers succeed.
As a US Foods Driver, you will be the backbone of our delivery operations. Your day begins with dispatch between 3:00 AM and 5:30 AM, followed by a 4-day work week schedule. You will safely drive trucks to customers, ensuring scheduled delivery times are met, and perform all necessary pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
Beyond driving, you will carefully unload products using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand, placing them in designated customer storage areas. You will verify delivery accuracy, obtain proper signatures, and handle collections when applicable. This role requires a professional approach to customer service to enhance the client experience, even while navigating inclement weather and making frequent stops throughout the shift.
Our drivers start at $36.64 per hour, with an increase to $39.00 per hour at the one-year anniversary, followed by annual wage increases thereafter. Top earners can make over $125,000 annually with overtime. Once at top pay, drivers average over $105,000 per year on a 4-day work week.
We offer low-cost benefits starting on Day 1, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Our enhanced 401(k) plan features an automatic 2% company contribution plus a 100% match up to 6%, resulting in up to 8% total company contribution.
To apply, candidates must be at least 21 years of age with a valid CDL Class A issued by their state of legal residence, including necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. You must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure online database required by the Department of Transportation for tracking drug and alcohol program violations. Registration is mandatory for all drivers; please visit the FMCSA website to complete this step before applying.
