As a CDL A Sonic Assistant, you will be an integral part of our environmental field services team, supporting the Lead Driller in executing complex drilling operations. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, outdoor environments and are eager to learn the intricacies of sonic drilling, Geoprobe/direct-push techniques, and environmental remediation. You will work alongside project managers, clients, and crew members to ensure that every site is operated safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with regulatory standards.
Your day-to-day involves a blend of skilled equipment operation, rigorous physical labor, and meticulous documentation. From loading and staging heavy drilling rigs to assisting with soil and groundwater sampling, you will be on the front lines of environmental protection. This position requires adaptability, as you will travel to various project sites, often working flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight assignments to meet project deadlines.
This role is performed primarily in uncontrolled outdoor atmospheres. You will be exposed to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and dry environments, as well as industrial hazards such as dust, fumes, chemicals, and noise. The work often takes place in diverse settings, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and storage tanks. Adherence to strict safety protocols and the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory to ensure a safe work environment for everyone on the crew.
Candidates must possess a valid Class A CDL and meet all company insurability and DOT requirements, including medical certification. The selection process prioritizes safety awareness, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform strenuous physical labor. Those with prior experience in environmental drilling, HAZWOPER certification, or equipment operation will be highly considered.
