ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, stands as one of the nation's largest and most trusted less-than-truckload carriers. With over a century of experience and 240 service centers spanning North America, we are driven by an unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and customer service. We provide best-in-class LTL transportation for companies of all sizes and industries, ensuring excellence in every mile we travel.
As a Road Driver, you will be the backbone of our logistics network, responsible for the pickup and delivery of cargo trailers to and from various long-distance destinations. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of goods across our extensive service center network. Your day-to-day involves performing essential tasks such as check-in procedures, thorough tractor and trailer inspections, and setting up equipment for the road. You will be coupling and uncoupling trailers from one another and from the tractor, ensuring that every load is secure and ready for transport.
This position requires driving for extended periods, navigating diverse routes while adhering to strict safety standards. While specific duties and schedules may vary depending on your terminal location, the core mission remains the same: delivering cargo safely and efficiently. You will operate a fleet of road tractors that average less than 18 months in age, featuring fully air-conditioned cabs and power steering to ensure a comfortable and professional driving experience.
Candidates must possess a valid Class-A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker, and hazardous materials endorsements. We require a minimum of one year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience, though candidates with less experience may be eligible for training. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a good stable work record and a safe driving history as verified by your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and previous employment. Additionally, you must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet all DOT medical requirements.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
