ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is one of the nation's largest and most trusted less-than-truckload carriers. With over a century of experience and 240 service centers spanning North America, we are driven for excellence. Our unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and customer service allows us to offer best-in-class LTL transportation for companies of all sizes and industries.
Road Drivers are the backbone of our logistics network, responsible for the pickup and delivery of cargo trailers to and from various long-distance destinations. This role involves coupling and uncoupling trailers from one another and from the tractor, performing detailed check-ins and inspections, and setting up tractors for the road. While duties and schedules may vary depending on the terminal location, the core mission is to ensure safe and efficient transport across the continent.
Drivers will spend significant time on the road, often traveling 75% or more of their time. The position requires a stable work record and the ability to adapt to varying shift hours, which may include days, nights, and weekends depending on the specific service center needs.
We provide a supportive environment with modern, well-maintained equipment. Our road tractors average less than 18 months in age, are fully air-conditioned, and equipped with power steering. All ABF equipment is covered by a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program.
Our compensation and benefits package reflects our commitment to our drivers:
