Schneider is seeking an Intermodal Truck Driver to join our team in Providence, RI. With 35 years of intermodal expertise, we offer the stability, reliability, and long-term opportunity that only a proven, established network can provide. This role focuses on hauling freight containers secured to company-owned chassis, featuring 99% no-touch freight with 80% drop-and-hook operations.
As a driver on this account, you will navigate railyards across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The position is designed to maximize your time on the road; with a high volume of drop-and-hook freight, you will spend more time moving and less time waiting at loading docks. You will utilize leading technology, including tablets and mobile apps, to complete tasks more quickly and efficiently. Drivers on this account are required to drive at night.
We prioritize driver comfort and career growth. Our equipment and technology specs are designed with the driver in mind, and we offer specific paid intermodal orientation at a major hub to ensure you are fully prepared. We also offer paid orientation, paid time off after six months, and six days of holiday pay per year. Additionally, we provide credit for military experience and participation in military apprenticeship programs.
Schneider believes that treating everyone with dignity and respect is vital to our ongoing success. We embrace and seek out diversity that is inclusive of thought, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender expression, age, religion, sexual orientation, ability, medical condition, veteran or military status, experience, and background. This diversity ensures all associates have equal access to opportunities and resources to contribute fully to the organization's success.
