US FOODS® is one of the largest food distributors in the country, built on a culture of "You Matter." We pride ourselves on a history of promoting from within, offering unlimited career growth opportunities alongside ongoing job skills and leadership development training. Our mission is to help our customers make it, while simultaneously helping our drivers make it through a commitment to total rewards that respect and reward dedication and hard work.
As a Delivery Driver, you will be one of the most important faces of our organization. You are critical to the US FOODS® team, serving as the foundation of our success through your work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service. Your role involves delivering a wide variety of products—including meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies—to customer drop-off sites.
Great drivers on our team strive for integrity and reliability, building trusting relationships with customers both on and off the road. You will be responsible for delivering best-in-class customer service, meeting scheduled delivery times, and ensuring productivity. The role requires frequent stops, verifying deliveries, collecting payments where needed, and unloading products using a hand truck. You must be prepared to perform repeated manual heavy lifting of items up to 80 pounds and deliver products in inclement weather conditions.
You will work a Monday through Friday schedule, starting between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM. The position offers local routes that allow you to go home every night. You will receive paid training and paid overtime, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. After a training period, you will transition to a component pay program based on your performance and ability to deliver independently.
To join our transportation team, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid CDL A issued by their state of legal residence with necessary endorsements. You must also be DOT qualified. Applicants need a minimum of six months of commercial truck driving experience, or three months of foodservice or food and beverage truck delivery experience.
A critical requirement for this role is registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure online database mandated by the Department of Transportation. All drivers must visit the Clearinghouse website to register, as it provides real-time information regarding drug and alcohol program violations for CDL and CLP holders. If you have not yet registered, you must do so before starting.
