About the Role
The Cat Scan Specialist serves as a vital clinical partner to Radiologists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients of all types. Beyond performing complex scanning procedures, this role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the department's equipment through rigorous daily and weekly Quality Control protocols. The Specialist acts as a positive role model, fostering a collaborative environment across all levels of departmental personnel while upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
In this position, you will be the face of the Imaging Services Department for many patients. Your day involves guiding individuals through the imaging process with empathy and precision, from reviewing medical histories and confirming patient identification to explaining procedures and positioning patients safely. You will coordinate workflow to ensure timely service, assist in the movement of patients, and provide technical guidance to new hires, students, and fellow staff members. The role requires active collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments to facilitate seamless patient access and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements
- verifiedOne (1) year of progressive technical experience in Diagnostic Radiology
- verifiedCompletion of an approved ARRT program in Radiology
- verifiedCPR certification
- verifiedRegistered Radiographic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists
- verifiedCurrent License by New York State Department of Health
- verifiedAppropriate Federal, State and local licensing requirements
Nice to Have
Three (3) months training in the performance of Cat scan procedures. Registered in Cat Scan by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists. Certified to inject per requirements of Section 89.40 of part 89 NYSDOH.
