You will serve as a vital link between the store and its community, creating a friendly, safe, and clean environment for both customers and employees. The role requires a team player who thrives in a fast-paced retail setting, capable of multitasking while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
Day in the Life
Your day will be dynamic, blending customer interaction with operational excellence. You will manage sales transactions with precision, operating the POS system, fuel console, and handling various payment types including credit cards, coupons, and lottery sales. A key part of your responsibility is ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, particularly regarding age-restricted items like alcohol and tobacco.
Beyond the register, you will play an active role in maintaining the store's atmosphere. This includes preparing fresh hot food and coffee, managing the condiment bar, and ensuring all equipment is sanitized and functional. Whether you are stocking shelves, front-facing coolers, or performing deep cleaning tasks during night shifts, your efforts ensure the store remains inviting and efficient. You will also participate in sales promotions, practice suggestive selling to meet goals, and actively contribute to team-building activities.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role will undergo an evaluation of their computer skills, specifically competency in the PDI Enterprise POS system. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate open availability to work all shifts and flexibility to support other stores within the district as needed.
